The Carlton County Land Stewards is a grassroots group of families, farmers, landowners, and individuals. We originally came together as a group to oppose the creation of a new pipeline right of way in Northern Minnesota that would have completely disrupted some of the most productive farm and forestlands in Carlton County and crossed virgin wetlands and waterways. We won that fight through working together as a community with our elected officials.
We have continued to meet as friends and neighbors but we have recently regrouped with purpose towards protecting our most treasured assets – our water, our farmland, our human community, and our natural environment against unplanned and unmonitored encroachment by outside industry.
