The Carlton County Land Stewards is a grassroots group of families, farmers, landowners, and individuals that oppose the creation of a new pipeline right of way in Northern Minnesota. This new pipeline would completely disrupt some of the most productive farm and forestlands in Carlton County and cross virgin wetlands and waterways. There are currently two possible alternatives to this new route – the existing right of way or an abandoned railroad right-of-way owned by Carlton County.
We need your support in our effort to re-route the Sandpiper Pipeline proposal by urging Enbridge Energy, the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (MPUC), and elected officials to only consider the existing pipeline corridor or to adopt a plan to utilize the publicly owned Soo Line Grade.
To win this fight we will need letters to the MPUC supporting this concept during the upcoming comment period. We will be sending out information as this period draws closer. Before that time, we can supply you with more information when you contact us at either the website (www.carltoncountylandstewards.org), our phone number: 1-888-382-7940, or our facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/carltoncountylandstewards.
